Angels
Angels are the eternal protectors of The Golden Kingdom and the servants of The Golden King, and while The Golden Bible describes them as beings of purity, bravery and courage, the truth is a bit more curious.
What is it?:
Angels are spirits that have earned their eternal rest within The Golden Kingdom and I have pledge themselves to serve The Golden King. In terms of appearance, Angels are bipedals that each possess a pair of massive feathered wings, a halo adorning the top of their heads and some type of angelic weapon be it a spear, sword, shield or some other such weapon, in addition all angels adorn a beautiful yet blinding gold plated armour that mortals can’t touch without risking injury. Within The Golden Bible Angels are often described as the very definition of purity and courage, however real-life accounts seem to contradict this as seen during The 3 Dividith War when Angels would happy leave mortal worlds to die if it meant defeating The Chaos Kingdom and their Devils.
Where does it live?:
As mentioned before all Angels are “born” and live within the glorious Golden Kingdom. Within The Golden Bible, The Golden Kingdom is described as a shining Golden palace surround by paradise, sunshine and warmth, the kingdom is inhabited by majestic turtles, bustling marketplaces and angelic gold plated protectors. When an Angel is summoned or find themselves within the physical realms they are most often taken in by those who follow The Golden Faith, more specifically a church or organisation. The most common reason an Angel will find themselves within the physical realms is because they have been summoned to fight against some kind of great Chaos/Devil threat, although there are other reasons such as EAC Warps, important missions or even manipulation. For Angels who find themselves in the physical realms by chance or haven’t been taken in, they will usually try and find a suitable domicile which mainly includes abandoned churches, villages, towers and even shipwrecks, once a domicile has been successfully found the Angel will then try to find a way back to The Golden Kingdom or begin their mission.
What does it do?:
Typically Angels exist to uphold The Golden Faith, protect The Golden Kingdom and eternally serve the will of The Golden King, this often means going to war with The Chaos Kingdom and trying to come up with new ways to stop the oily spread of The Dark Kingdom, but while Angels seem to be cold and uncaring, their passion and love for The Golden Kingdom rivals anything a mortal is capable of feeling. Additionally one of the main reasons that Angels don’t seem to value mortal life is because they know what awaits them after death, for those who live in accordance with The Golden Faith shall be welcomed into paradise, for those who believe in it and still disregard it will be cast towards Chaos in a daily fight for both the body and the spirit, and for those who simply can’t believe, well no one truly knows what happens to those who enter to The Dark Kingdom.
How to kill it?:
Since Angels are already dead they can’t really be killed, however the can be hurt and banished. An easily way to hurt an Angel and force it to flee is by utilising chaos magic, weaponry and artifacts just to name a few, however sometimes anything to emits chaos magic can be just as deadly to the wielder as it is to the target. A banish ritual or spell is a good way to temporally get rid of an Angel, but it isn’t a permanent solution and more often then not the Angel will simply reappear a few days or weeks later, however some spiritmancy blessings and enchantments are able to cut an Angels link to the physical realms meaning they are unable to return. Interestingly there was a rumour about a God Hunter who managed to kill or banish an Angel by making it commit a sin, but the story is old and the sources are about as reliable as a politicians promises.
Different Types of Angels:
1. Fallen Angels- are Angels that have fallen to the forces of chaos and have been corrupted into serving The Chaos Kingdom. In terms of appearance, their angelic bodies have been mutated into hardened red scales and what’s left of their skin is left cut and scared, in addition their feathered wings have been replaced with hardened devil wings that are fitted to their spine by “organic black chains”. The reason for an Angel falling to the forces of chaos are numerous ranging from self sacrifice, overwhelming odds or even out of their own free will, whatever the reason for their corruption the transformation that has taken place is permanent with the only way to escape it being death.
2. Archangels- are Angels that are created from the spirit of a loyal Golden Faith warrior who dies during a war/battle. In terms of appearance, Archangels appear just like how they did before they died apart from 3 key differences; the first is the presence of a set of feathered wings upon their back, the second is their eyes which glow a blinding gold, and the third is their presence being more “holier” then before, as if they were The Golden King themselves. As mentioned above, Archangels often appear during a great battle or war and the spirit that is used to create them is one that believe wholeheartedly in The Golden Faith. Usually when an Archangel descends on the battlefield the fighting stops quickly and people start either running away out of sheer terror at what they are seeing, or begin kneeling before the angelic figure and begging it for numerous wants and desires.
