Stone Angels
Stone Angels are amongst a few select beasts that inspire as much fear as they do mystery, due to not only their bizarrely eldritch appearance and numerous strange features, but also because of their strange insane behaviour.
What is it?:
Stone Angels are angelic bipedals that appear like a mix between a Gargoyle as they have stone like skin, and the biblical descriptions of Angels as they have “feathered” wings and a halo adorning their head, and while an Angels wings are described as “beautiful and holy”, a Stone Angel’s wings appear mattered, torn and quite damaged. Another way a Stone Angel differs from tradition descriptions of Angels is with it’s face as they appear horrifically disfigured with no lips, no eyes and a large row of rotted maggot infest teeth, despite the horrific appearance of it’s face many of those who have encounter this strange beast have claimed to hear it mutter certain words like “Why?”, “Help”, “Liar” and “The Shadows Burn” just to name a few. In terms of an origin as of today no beast hunter, beastologist, spiritualist, God Hunter, Sennu or any other professions have managed to figure one out as they seemingly just appeared during The Pantheonic Age, however if we are to assume that Stone Angels are, were or at least related to the biblical Angels then maybe this passage from The Golden Bible might shed some light on their origin; “And so it is said that ye who peer further then thy can see, will be chained to the sound of whispers as they claim you down, forever bound in stone, never again to kiss the unknown”.
Where does it live?:
Typically finding a domicile isn’t a major priority for Stone Angels nor is meeting basic needs, (if they do indeed have any), however more often then not they are found to have made homes within graveyards, cemeteries, abandoned factories and long abandoned places. Within their domicile, Stone Angels will carved alien symbols, indescribable words and esoteric ritual instructions alongside the bones and corpses of those who came too close to their home, once they have done this then strange things will begin to happen within around a 10 mile radius of the domicile, various beasts both of this realm and others will appear, violent storms and previous never before seen weather will tear up the land, and one incident even involved an Outer One from The Dreamspace. One notable case of a Stone Angel was on the planet Morgoth and involved the beast making it’s domicile within the walls of an abandoned section of a school, the Stone Angels ritual cases mass illness, horrible mutations and even cause the death of 7 children before eventually a skilled individual was hired to kill the beast.
What does it do?:
More often then not, Stone Angels spend most of their time muttering indistinguishable phrases, conducting rituals to achieve goals only they could possibly understand and drawing esoteric symbols using their own blood, someone else’s blood and even various types of fecal matter. When they aren’t doing that, they will wander the lands near their domicile looking either lost, confused or a mixture of the 2, in addition they most commonly prey on small animals such as rabbits, but they aren’t afraid to take on bigger enemies like wolves or even bears.
How to kill it?:
Killing a Stone Angel is relatively easy as any skilled swordsmen or marksmen can easily neutralize them, however the hardest problem is not actually killing the Stone Angel, but actually getting it to stay dead. In order to full kill a Stone Angel you would need to utilise spiritmancy in order to either banish the spirit or put it to rest again, failing that you can always lock the spirit inside of a spirit gem. Finally you can temporally get rid of a Stone Angel by simply burning the body until it turns to ash, but after about 2 weeks it will eventually return and continue to kill and conduct it’s bizarre ritual.
Different Types of Stone Angels:
1. Firestone Angel- are Stone Angel that have been bitten and infect by a Demon. These Stone Angels are extremely monstrous and savagely violent towards anything near or around them so much so that they rip off whole bodily and attack their victims so sadistically that only blood smears are left. In terms of appearance, Firestone Angels appear no different to normal Stone Angels with the only notable differences being that their bodies are consumed by flame and their behaviour goes from mysterious to down right sadistic, however an often over looked detail about Firestone Angels are their halos which burn a bright and violent orange. Unlike normal Stone Angels, Firestone Angels are unconcern with conducting bizarre rituals and they only care about kill anything and everything they can find, and also unlike their normal counterparts, once this type of Stone Angel appears every living being with the immediate area is doomed to die a horrible death.
