The Order of Beskella

The Order of Beskella is a faction that consists of the most powerful magic users the galaxy has to offer, it is the duty of all within this faction to not only learn, study and research magic, but to explore it’s inner workings and embrace newer/progressive magics.

Information:

The Order of Beskella in The Unity Age is actually not the first faction to take up that name, that faction was “The Chantry of Beskella” which was formed by “Beskella, Herald of Oukmart” all the way back during The Wars of Magic and Science. During The Wars of Magic and Science The Chantry mainly comprised of astute first age magic users as well as those who had fallen out of love with their race and simply didn’t want to fight in their pointless war anymore, their mission was a simply one with it being to collect, preserve and study anything and everything related to magic including Second Age Magic, Necromancy, Sangius and others. While The Chantry took no official side during The Wars of Magic and Science Beskella, who himself was an Octush and a Minister at that, notably had a hatred for The Second Age in general including his own race and the second age magic he had help create, however he held a special hatred for “Manish Brotok” who was the false leader of The Ta-og and a man that Beskella once called friend. Unfortunately during The Dwoverian Takeover, The Chantry of Beskella was completely destroyed with their old base “The Hall of Magical Wonders” was burned to the ground, this was because The Octush who had created The Dwoverians held a burning hatred for Beskella as he had not only betrayed his entire race in favour of magic, but also his family too.

In terms of structure The Order of Beskella is led by “The Coalition of Sovereignties” which makes up 5 Sovereigns that each lead their own sovereignty, but unlike most factions that work together with their inner “departments” these sovereignties often pursue their own goals and ambitions. Each of the 5 sovereignties are completely unique and different from each other to the point that some outwardly dislike and even detest another, this tension between sovereignties has result in numerous documented civil wars which have at times gotten quite brutal, however these civil wars were primarily in the early decades of The Unity Age and have stopped being so frequent as time as gone on. All this isn’t to say that all 5 sovereignties can’t work together as when crisis has arisen The Order of Beskella has stood strong and united ready take on the threats they face, and even their education system shows numerous students who have already been assigned a sovereignty mixing, training and making happy memories together.

Within the modern age The Order of Beskella is a the height of it’s influence as due to their great efforts alongside The Sennu and The Bellators during The Afterlife Age they are widely accepted and even held in high praise by the galactic public as well as numerous factions. Although their reputation which take a nose dive as during “The 3 Dividith War” The Order provided no aid or help to The Sennu, The Bellators or the survivors that desperately needed magical aid, this resulted in a violent protest outside “The Beskella Academy”, the sad and brutal death of “Lloyd Dextarrum” and a change in The Order of Beseklla that would forever doom the galaxy.

Different Sovereignties:

1. The Dark Inquisition- is a sovereignty that is dedicated to the use, study and research of all unknown, occult, taboo and otherwise “forbidden magics”. Amongst the other sovereignties, The Dark Inquisition are often seen as the most hated due to their affinity with the eldritch, the mysterious and more often then not the down right insane and disgusting, in addition the majority of civil wars within The Order of Beskella were directly or indirectly caused by The Dark Inquisition, however this does not mean that the sovereignty itself is inherently bad as like all Pishouges they seek to understand magic and serve it the best way that they can. Many often ask the question “If Forbidden magic is so evil then why create The Dark Inquisition to begin with?” and the answer is relatively simple, Beskella was a well known believer in Deusism and one of their core tenants is “Always open you mind to every path” , so despite his hatred and disgust at most of the forbidden magics he saw it as essentially to study, understand and if necessary use them.

2. The Antiquarians- is a sovereignty that is dedicated to the securement, research and eventually utilisation of various magical artifacts. Amongst the other sovereignties, The Antiquarians are often considered to be reclusive and much more happier tending to their books and research rather then being active upon the battlefield using the artifacts they’ve acquired. Despite their reclusive nature The Antiquarians can indeed handle themselves as magical artifacts no matter the power behind them often attracts, pirates, looters, raiders and even organised criminal groups who’ll sell them to the highest bidder without a second thought, in addition this sovereignty is quite commonly at odds with The Bellator’s “All Black Knights” as the two share a common goal, but they do differ on who should have the artifact.

3. The Pathfinders- is a sovereignty that is dedicated to the exploration of the universe to document, practice and research all magics both old, new and unknown. Amongst the other sovereignties, The Pathfinders are actually highly respected for their bravery in exploration of the deepest corners of the universe and their courage in utilising and testing various magics that have proven to be extremely unstable as well as dangerous. As a result of their exploratory mission goal only a handful of Pathfinders are seen at Beskella Academy and surrounding areas with the majority seen using being teachers to student pishogues or simply having come back from a long journey across the starts.

4. The Faith Keepers- is a sovereignty that is dedicated to the more religious side of magic and seek to combine the 2 to use them more effectively. Amongst the other sovereignties, The Faith Keepers are often mocked and laughed at due to many considering their mission to be a “waste of time” and pishogue outside of this sovereignty often attempt to create conflicts between it’s members as not all faith keepers share the same faith or follow the same religion, however despite this the majority of The Faith Keepers maintain peace within their sovereignty as well as outside of it respecting and being open minded to the paths their fellow pishogue have chosen to walk.

5. The Weaponsmiths- is a sovereignty that is dedicated to the usage of various methods and means to construct magical weapons, armour and devices both new and old. Amongst the other sovereignties, The Weaponsmiths are seen as the “branch” that connects all together as at one time or another the other 4 sovereignties have need their help, if not’s repairing an ancient artifact for an Antiquarian, then its creating a weapon strong enough to hold the power of an eldritch tome found by a Dark Inquisitor or it’s upgrading a Pathfinder’s armour to handle intense gravity or even trying to design an armour set that fits with a certain Faith Keepers religion, because of how of an important role they play The Weaponsmiths are probably the most influential within The Order.
