The Hominids
The Hominids were at one time the most feared races in the galaxy, with strength rivalling The Ta-og and intelligence just below that of The Timisha, these advanced apes managed to carve an empire so might and prosperous that war and conquest became simply a sport to them.
Information:
Before the creation of their mighty galactic empire, all Hominids were split into various different “Hoardes” spread far and wide across the galaxy with each hoarde developing different cultures, beliefs and even evolutionary traits. With limited technology and not a lot of resources, everyday life for most Hominid hoardes was a fight for survival as they had to contest with beasts of all types and size, other hostile and sometimes more advanced races and even other hoardes simply looking to double their resources as well as their numbers, even the places they called home weren’t safe as they had to contend with deadly diseases, violent flora and the numerous atmospheric and environmental challenges of settling new worlds with little to no technological or magical aid. Despite their numerous obstacles The Hominids persevered and their struggle yielded the rewards of long life spans, improved biological functions and they improvements of their survival skills which were second to none.
In terms of appearance, The Hominids were simply giant apes that stood between 5ft to nearly 20ft tall complete with large amounts of body hair, though skin and opposable thumbs on both their hands and feet. Although Hominids bare a striking resemblance to most great apes there is 1 main area where the 2 differ greatly and that is with their tattoos, called “Hoarde Markers” these tattoos appear on every Hominid that belongs to a specific hoarde with them communicating rank, position and occupation with a hoarde as well as which hoarde the hominid belongs to, an interesting fact about hoarde markers is that the ink that is used in their creation is formed magically with it’s mainly ability being able to pass the tattoos on to a hominids offspring, this could mean that The Hominids were much more magically gifted then known history has been able to tell us.
It was a single Hominid by the name of Abaddon, The Sovereign King that was able to unite the hundreds of hominid hoardes under a shared goal and a reward that was promised to be paid in full, now just what this shared goal was is still a mystery, the end of an unknown civil war? the reclaiming of something that had been taken from them? or was it simply revenge? Either way the goal is a mystery but the reward isn’t, the reward was that the hominids would grow together as they had done once before in ages past and they would forge a mighty empire that would show all other races just how strong they once were and could be again.
Different Types of Hominids:

Unlike most other Hominids that seek to kill and conquer, many Drillamays often seek only to kill was necessary and training their young to be honourable warriors instead of bloodthirsty conquers, additionally it is noted that before the cataphoric end of the first empire the Drillamays mainly belonged to a religion centred around “The Land of Furth” which is a belief they carried into the many hoardes they joined, and when Abaddon claimed to have returned from their promised land many of them immediately fell to their knees and swore loyalty to their reborn Sovereign King.
