The Alphdinians
The Alphdinians were once creatively masterful storytellers that spread far throughout the galaxy looking for more inspiration for their stories and mythology, however this once beautiful race would soon be corrupted by war and would fall silent never to truly return.
Information:
Unlike the majority of The Old Races, there is very little information on who The Alphdinians were, what their society was like and a lack of basic information that is present with all other old races, however the information that we do know and have managed to translate is from The Alphdinians vast and expansive mythology. Within their mythology, The Alphdinians have constructed numerous stories that serve to teach morals, documents events/discoveries they make, teach practical lessons and even give us brief bits of information about who The Alphdinians might have been; an example of this would be “Doth Dellan Brok Vanna” which roughly translates to “Death Shadn’t Go Unpunished”, in which an Alphdinian warrior calls out somekind of leader about the death of his father, the warrior believed that the leader had killed his own father to take is leadership role and although it nearly killed him the leader eventually confessed to their crime. Another less serious example would be “T’Ran Vockka C’Tan” roughly translated to “The Living Metal Dragons” which tells the story of a great and powerful curse that forever casted these ancient dragons into unyielding metal statues, however after finding a location similar to the one described within the story it is believed that this “curse” was simply the horrendous effects of a chrome sun. As evident by their sometimes wild and outlandish stories, it seems The Alphdinians were more focused on coming up with creative and exciting reasons for things occurring rather then looking into what actually happened in reality.
In terms of appearance, The Alphdinians were an amphibious race that possessed a hard skeletons and a large amount of muscle mass often standing at around 7ft to 8ft tall. From the few remains and photos found, it seems Alphdinians had hardened skeletons with their largest point being their oversized broad shoulders, this is believed to have granted them increased upper body strength making their punches much harder and them able to dawn heavier and more protective armour sets, but it would have made them slow runners and vulnerable fast paced attacks. Interestingly instead of bodily hair, it seems that The Alphdinians grew excess skin in place of hair with beards and heads of “hair” being simply extensions of their body and skin. Additionally it seems like most Alphdinians wore a type of space suit that could survive the majority of environments as well as withstand numerous attacks, as well as that it appears these suits were also capable of self cleaning both externally and internally as well as providing emergency nutrients and resources suggesting that Alphdinians would rarely leave the comfort of their suits.
In the modern age, The Alphdinians are pretty overlooked/forgotten in favour of more interesting races like The Hominids, The Katan and even The Deep Folk, however those who have a love for story telling and inspiring stories will find a friend in The Alphdinians.
