Djinns

Djinns are spirits capable of granting any individual 3 wishes of their choosing, while this may be a dream to many, a dangerous opportunity to some or a chance at petty revenge for a few, the truth is at one point or another the individual comes to regret their wishes no matter what their outcome was.

What is it?:

Djinns are mortal spirits that have “become something more” after death, and like all other Shaitans the exact reason behind their creation is unknown. In terms of appearance, Djinns are purple skinned beings with a basic bodily structure that has a high amount of muscle mass, ears that are long, pointed and studded with the addition of an earring, horns that are made of hardened purple skin as well as an elongated mouth with rows of sharp teeth and a long tongue, interestingly they almost always seem to be surrounded by an aura of sand which they can manipulate it often using this sand to flay the skin off of their enemies. According to many documented encounters by Beast Hunters, Spiritualists, Beastologists and many more, Djinns are often described as quite pleasant, if not a little pretentious as they will grant any wish that is asked of them, but if the wish is immoral, criminal, silly, ridiculous or bat shit mental then they will not be shy at voicing their opinions. Although Djinns have also been described as cunning tricksters like in the story “I wish to forget how to wish”; the story itself is about a young man who manages to find a Djinn and free it from the lamp it was trapped in, as per the young man is granted 3 wishes, the first was to be as strong as a troll, the second was to have the stamina of a Jagga and the third was to be married to the most beautiful girl in his village, but each wish came with a catch, while he possessed the strength of a troll he could no longer interact with other mortals as he would critically injury them, indeed he possessed the stamina of a Jagga but could no longer feel the efforts of hard work or indeed sleep, and the most beautiful women in the villiage just so happened to be his older sister.

Where do they live?:

Since Djinns are Shaitan spirits and are no longer gripped by the basic survival needs to say they lived anywhere would be false, however it would be more accurate to say they “live” close to desperate individuals. In detail, Djinns usually stalk and watch over the particularly desperate percentage of the galactic population, those who have barely anything to loose but everything to gain, then when the opportunity presents itself a Djinn will appear in front of their target and that’s when they “draw up a contract”, said contract will go over the wish granting rules as well as the 3 wishes themselves, but this contract also seals the fate of the individual.

What do they do?:

As mentioned numerous times above, a Djinns purpose is to grant 3 wishes to an individual through a contract, but how does that work? Starting off small, an individual may be granted 3 wishes by a Djinn if chosen by a Djinn, received and rubbed a lamp containing a Djinn or helped/aided a Djinn in someway. Next there are 2 types of wishes that Djinns grant, the first are “contract wishes” which comes in the form of a contract and usually contains a catch or two, the second are “gratitude wishes” which are wishes granted by a Djinn after being aided in someway with them almost always being “clean". Moving on, with contract wishes The Djinn will always want something in return for their services, now this can range from the individual’s spirit, their service, the spirits of those they love, 3 wishes in return and even to replace the individual just to name a few. Finally one of the most popular questions asked about Djinns is “can they refuse a wish?” and the answer is both yes and no, sure there are wishes a Djinn can’t/won’t perform but there is usually a loop hole around them; for example a Djinn can’t directly kill a living being, however a person can wish for the individual to be struck by lighting, leave the gas on while lighting a cigar or even wish for them not to be caught while the individual murders their intended target.

How to kill it?:

Similar to most Shaitan spirits, killing a Djinn is both hard, dangerous and tricky to pull off, but I do know of at least 3 ways to get rid of a Djinn permanently. The first method is to seal it within a specifically crafted lamp which is able to absorb and indefinitely hold a Djinn within until some rubs the lamp and releases it, the problem is that Djinn lamps need to be crafted as well as enchanted in certain ways and needs to be wielded by someone who is “personally dealing” with the Djinn. The second method is to perform a ritual called “The Rite of Zuula” which involves both spiritmancy and sangius, in short the ritual traps a Djinn within a pentagram and with 2 pints of the wishers blood sangius is used to drown and boil The Djinn alive until nothing is left. The third method is so dangerous and rare that to this day no known person has done it and that is to trick a Djinn, with Djinns being supremely intelligent and partically omnipresent it isn’t known how a person would even go about tricking these powerful spirits.
