Gorgons
Gorgons are the very definition of monstrous, while most beasts hunt for food, game or simply because of their beast nature, these horrific beasts hunt to torture, mame and mutilate using their victims remains to make no end of vile concoctions or perform unknowable rituals.
What is it?:
Gorgons are quite frankly the most disgusting and cruel beasts in the entire galaxy, since many who have encountered a Gorgon are either dead or are simply too disturb to talk about their experience, most of the information learned about them comes from studies, stories and folk tales, although they say if you get a Beast Hunter drunk enough then he will tell of their experience with a Gorgon. In terms of appearance, Gorgons are exclusively female with ragged stretch skin and a slight hunched back, they possess long and disgusting nails laced with dirt, insects and rotted bits of flesh stuck underneath them, and most seem to suffer from a form of alopecia causing their hair to become matted and clumped. Typically, Gorgons wear ragged old clothes that have been crudely stitched together by an insane mind with numerous patches, mismatched materials and questionable additions, however the more violent and feral Gorgons make their own clothes out of skin, muscle and bones of those they have kidnap and killed.
Where do they live?:
Primarily, Gorgons inhabit caves, graveyards, caverns, swamps, bogs, radioactive wastes and deep within forests. Due to their intelligence instead of simply building nests or sleeping like beasts, Gorgons actually construct homes with relatively good facilities like cauldrons with heating capabilities, various tools and stations to commit horrific acts upon. Additionally Gorgons are also intelligent enough to craft traps around their homes to prevent beast hunters from getting to them, these traps can range from simple bear traps, to traps that rip off body parts and even traps that transports individuals to horrific unknown lands.
What does it do?:
As mentioned above, Gorgons are the very definition of monstrous and their acts definitely reflect that, for example Gorgons are widely known for kidnapping children and this is most famously depicted in the story “Missed from dawn til dusk” in which a blacksmith recalls a beast hunter coming back from killing a Gorgon and telling the blacksmith what they saw. Another story called “The Ballet of Chloe of The Wood” describes a Gorgon who lives on the outskirts of a village and utilise certain magics in order to lure young men to their deaths, this is also a key behaviour of Gorgons as they often use Alchemy or illusion magic in order to appear as beautiful young women in the hopes of lure, killing and eventually cooking the young men who venture within her cabin. Finally a children’s song called “She who stalks the night” tells the story of a feral Gorgon who would kill various woodland creatures, skin their bodies and make strange ornaments out of them and she will do the same to any child who doesn’t listen to their parents, and while this is based off of truth the song does embellish certain details.
How to kill it?:
Gorgons are classed as Shaitan spirits and so killing them will be both difficult and you aren’t likely to come out without a few scars. The first method is to simply rush them with a melee or ranged weapons, now unless you are uniquely skill in whatever weapon you are wielding and have addition weapons like bombs, magic or something that causes damage, you are going to die a horrible death and so this method isn’t recommended. The second method is to utilise spiritmancy in order to banish or sacrifice the spirit to The Abyss, however you will need to get very close to the Gorgon for this to have any chance to work, in addition you will need to weaken the Gorgon and make it bleed in order for it to be fully banish. The third and finally method is to utilise The Golden Faith in order to burn Gorgons to ash and kill them once and for all, interestingly the only reason Golden Faith artifacts, passages, spells and weapons work on Gorgons is because they are mention within The Golden Bible as “Disgusting beings that were created, but instead born”.
