The Corrupted
The Corrupted are a blight upon The Soulscape as they are parasitic in nature, needing to infect/corrupt living beings so they may unlock their full power and wage war on the very things mortals try to protect.

Since history was first written about The Corrupted have been an enemy to all living things, starting wars, corrupting good hearted individuals and seeking simply to conquer all lands, and they will use any form of living being to accomplish this not matter how innocent or powerful they may be. One event that shows just how evil The Corrupted are is “The Coming of Crimson Skies” where numerous corrupted bound themselves to as many living beings as they could with the goal of summoning their leader, known as “The King of Crimson Skies”, back to the physical realm so that he may lead them in corrupting and conquering all living things, now how does this make them evil some of you may ask? Well in order to corrupt as many individuals as possible at the same time they needed to plan ahead, so they hide themselves with home, barns, pubs and everywhere that living things felt safe, when they eventually revealed themselves they corruption forced brother to kill father, mothers to slaughter their daughters, cattle to violent eat their farmers and even those of faith to kill their flock of devote believer. Luckily for the rest of The Soulscape this event was stopped by a band of unlikely heroes, but the horrors of what many were forced to do and what was forced upon them won’t be easily forgotten, for some time heals all wounds, for others time simply rotts their wounds as they are reminded of them everyday, this is why The Corrupted are abhorrent creatures.
In terms of appearance, The Corrupted appear as large goo-like entities that can alter their height and width depending on what they are corrupting. They possess no feet and actually move around by corrupting the ground beneath them, however for long distance journeys they will most often corrupt some form of beast in order to travel with less hassle. Their physical form often presents as a large parasite with a large pair of arms used to grab/hold their prey, a sucker mouth that is used to latch upon their preys head either at the back or the front, and numerous tentacle-like appendages that aids the corrupted in fully consuming/corrupting it’s prey. Once they have corrupted some form of prey their bodies will begin to change to match whatever they have consumed leading to a multitude of different outcomes, however there are constants and they involve a jaw fitted with numerous razor sharp teeth, some type of fleshy goo cape, absent eyes of varying colour and powerful abilities that turn them into effective and sadistic killing machines.
In the modern age The Corrupted aren’t as big of a threat as they once were as the more organised empires have been crushed as time has moved forward, while it is known that many corrupted have crossed into the galaxy and they still continue to corrupt and kill all living things there hasn’t been a large scale event involving them in quite some time. Interestingly many people have preposed a theory that The Corrupted and The Dawnbreakers may be related as their abilities are similar as both can form weapons from their bodies and both have to latch onto living beings in order to survive and use their full power, however whereas The Corrupted are more powerful and sadistic, there have been many examples throughout galactic history that proves Dawnbreakers can work alongside mortals without issue.
